Hall Day is a very special event for each individual of the hall.Every Shastrian celebrates the hall day with great enthusiasm and since hall days of different halls are celebrated on seperate days, friends from other halls can also be invited to have a great evening. Hall day is accompanied by delicious food items, DJ Night and other awesome events. Hall day lives in our memory for all our life.
Shastri Jayanti is celebrated on 2nd of october, the birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri (the young satyagrahi) and the saviour of India during Indo-Pakistan War. Various events are organised in honour of the late prime minister like Debates, Drama, Dance and what not! A grand dinner is also organised.
Illumination acts as an event of enlightening the boarders and producing a spark in them during diwali time. The spark which makes every boarder give their all physical and mental effort for the hall.The Enthusiasm shown by Shastrians leads to a very lovely creation of bright designs using diyas showcasing, IITians can also act as good designers.There is a fierce competion between halls to create the best Illuminati design as it also a part of the Social And Cultural GC.
Rangoli according to it's definition is an art form from native India in which patterns are created on the floor in living rooms or courtyards using materials such as colored rice, dry flour, colored sand or flower petals. A large amount of creativity is used by the participants to create a mind numbing rangoli design which can be either complex, elegant or both. No person can ever forget the memory of beautiful rangolis created by us, Shastrians.
Independence Day is celebrated all over India including LBS with great enthusiasm.Independence Day starts with a speech from the Respected Warden followed by the Hall Council Members.Flag hoisting is done by Warden with distribution of sweets later.
